Defining the problem
Our induction session introduces learners to the programme in detail, giving an overview of the programme, workshops, skills coaching sessions and theatre-based learning session. We’ll also demonstrate our online learning
environment and delegates will meet the skills coach who supports them throughout their learning journey.
Communication and coaching
In this theatre-based learning session, we’ll focus on enhancing our communication skills to support awareness of both our own and other’s working styles. Working with our actors, we’ll build observation, listening and questioning skills to utilise a coaching approach when creating high performing teams and influencing others.
Principles & Methods
In this session, learners will explore the business value of Lean and Six Sigma improvement methods, looking at how these tools can be utilised to improve organisational operation and deliver business benefits.
Project Management tools and techniques
This workshop focuses on the key techniques and tools of project management, giving learners a thorough overview of best practice to support effective planning and scheduling of organisational improvement projects. We’ll look how to analyse risks and benefits, track and review progress, and the importance of focusing on lessons learned.
Change Management
This workshop introduces learners to
the change curve, and how to manage teams and individuals through the change process. We’ll explore resistance to change and understand how to overcome these
challenges with compelling narratives that bring individuals on board. This session also focuses on tools to track, manage and assess the impact of change, and learners
will explore their own thoughts on change and identify how they can align their own behaviours to organisational values to maintain a flexible and professional practice.
Project scoping & Process mapping
In this workshop, we’ll explore a variety of methods to support the effective scoping of improvement projects to ensure their successful completion. Looking at constraints and resourcing, we’ll utilise different tools to map projects throughout a process, identifying responsibilities,
ownership and future actions.
Measuring performance
This workshop focuses on the tools and methods for measuring performance. We’ll be looking at how to utilise a measurement system study, capability analysis and structured benchmarking to support target setting.
Decision making and experimentation
In this workshop, we’ll explore decision making techniques from an individual and team perspective and investigate the role of planned experimentation in business improvement, focusing on how to analyse experiment data and prioritise generated ideas and solutions.
Statistics and data
This workshop fully investigates the tools and methods utilised to gather robust data for analysis in business improvement scenarios. Using spreadsheets, pivot tables, control charts, and statistical analysis software, learners will identify how to select and apply appropriate tools for ongoing monitoring and reporting.
Presenting and reporting
This half-day workshop focuses on
templates and tools to support reporting and presenting to stakeholders of varying levels. We’ll draw on the skills developed in the earlier Communication and Coaching
session to explore how to report on
results, conclusions and recommendations to engage audiences and deliver key messages. This session is followed by a Skills Coach facilitated session to support the development of reports for EPA.
Continuous improvement
This final workshop in this programme explores the importance of continuous improvement on an organisational and individual level. We’ll look at the need to reflect on lessons learnt and embed learning
from improvements, focusing on how to ensure an ongoing focus on development and change.
